5. Demand execution profile

The demand execution profile defines the general settings used by Demand Planning. This tutorial creates a monthly execution profile that projects the next 12 months. Model, historical window, and split remain outside the profile and will be configured in chapter 6. The default Demand Plan UOM will be configured on this screen and can be differentiated at cluster level if desired.

Open execution profiles

1. In the sidebar, select the Demand Planning icon.

2. In Configuration, select Execution Profiles.

Create the monthly profile

Required action

Create DP_MONTHLY_TUTORIAL with a monthly bucket. Before confirming, verify the three highlighted fields in the screenshot.

  1. Click New profile.
  2. Enter DP_MONTHLY_TUTORIAL in Profile ID.
  3. Enter Monthly demand profile — paper tutorial in Description.
  4. Select Monthly in Bucket size.

  1. Click Create profile.

Complete and save the general settings

  1. Enter 12 in Planning horizon in periods.
  2. Select the default Demand Plan UOM. If desired, this parameter can be differentiated at cluster level.
  3. Click Save profile.
  4. Wait for the profile-saved confirmation.

The Save profile button remains in the upper-right corner of the screen, next to Copy profile.

Checkpoint

  • DP_MONTHLY_TUTORIAL created and reloaded from the server;
  • Monthly bucket and 12-period horizon;
  • default Demand Plan UOM configured.
