5. Demand execution profile

The demand execution profile defines the general time settings used by statistical combinations. In this tutorial, the monthly profile matches the historical granularity and projects 12 future periods. Model, historical window, effective UOM, and split remain outside the profile and will be configured in chapter 6.

Open execution profiles

Required action

Hover over Demand Planning in the side menu and open Execution Profiles.

Create the monthly profile

Required action

Create DP_MONTHLY_TUTORIAL with a monthly bucket. Before confirming, verify the three highlighted fields in the screenshot.

  1. Click New profile.
  2. Enter DP_MONTHLY_TUTORIAL in Profile ID.
  3. Enter Monthly demand profile — paper tutorial in Description.
  4. Select Monthly in Bucket size.

  1. Click Create profile.

Complete and save the general settings

Required action

Keep Historical sales document type = Sell-out, enter a horizon of 12, and save the profile.

  1. Confirm Historical sales document type = Sell-out.
  2. Enter 12 in Planning horizon in periods.
  3. Click Save profile.
  4. Wait for the profile-saved confirmation.

The Save profile button remains in the upper-right corner of the screen, next to Copy profile.

Saving the profile completes only the general settings. Do not choose a statistical model on this screen: that decision belongs to each cluster combination.

Checkpoint

  • DP_MONTHLY_TUTORIAL created and reloaded from the server;
  • Monthly bucket and 12-period horizon;
  • Sell-out historical document type;
  • no statistical configuration changed in this step.
