Demand Planning Split Model

The splitModel field defines how an aggregated forecast returns to material-location DFUs. It is required on save and therefore has no default.

Practical choice

  • Use Historical Sales when recent mix is a suitable allocation signal.
  • Use DFU-Level STL Forecast when detailed series have useful structure that historical shares alone do not capture.
  • Use Hierarchical Reconciliation when forecasts must remain coherent across governed hierarchy levels.

Hierarchical Reconciliation requires a statistical forecast engine and is not compatible with Chronos.
