Production resources¶
A production resource is the productive asset whose use can constrain a manufacturing operation: for example, a line, machine, cell, or labor pool. It identifies the asset; its capacity is registered separately in production resource availability.
Resources are needed only when a routing operation must convert production into capacity consumption. A productive alternative without operations needs neither a resource nor availability.

One row identifies one productive resource.

Relationships and validation¶
- The resource belongs to an existing location.
- A routing operation consumes one resource.
- Capacity is recorded by resource and reference date in availability.
- A resource ID is stable and globally unique when it comes from an integrated compound key; see Identifiers and periodicity.
