SAP reference for forecast clusters¶
This page complements forecast clusters. There is no equivalent S/4HANA master record. SAP IBP and SAP APO provide nearby concepts, but the OpsFactor Community/Enterprise contract remains authoritative.
| OpsFactor | Nearby SAP concept | Difference |
|---|---|---|
| material/location cluster | ABC/XYZ segments or IBP master-data attributes | Segments can be stored results, not prioritized rules |
| characteristic/status/geography rules | attribute filters and planning levels | Available criteria depend on the planning area |
priority |
filter/segmentation order configured in the process | No universal equivalent |
process |
planning process/model | Community accepts DP; SAP may separate by planning area |
SAP segment IDs can be reused when stable, for example IBP-ABC-A. If
OpsFactor creates a cluster from a composite rule, use a functional ID such as
DP-MAT-REGULAR-SOUTHEAST and retain the rules as part of the contract, not
only the resulting member list.
In Enterprise, characteristic rules depend on OpsFactor catalogs. The integration must first translate SAP attributes into these characteristics and only then configure or allocate clusters.
Nearby SAP transactions or apps¶
There is no equivalent S/4HANA transaction. In SAP IBP, use ABC/XYZ segmentation apps and jobs plus planning-area configuration to reconcile levels, target attributes, and stored results.
